Mais d'autre part (miam), la description qui va avec n'interdit pas de penser qu'il s'agit d'une fête en l'honneur de LAST STEP lui-même. Vous rétorquerez peut-être que Aaron Funk n'était pas sur la scène en 1961. Pour ma part (miam), vu ce festival de jazz, funk, reggae, coldwave, je me dis que si ! Favorite track: Sonic Blue.

After the success of Last Step's eponymous debut, Aaron Funk re-ignites his odd time signatured electronic disco pseudonym for more off-kilter analogue adventures. This time it's party time: a celebration! Hence the cake...

Everyone knows Aaron (a.k.a. Venetian Snares) as a pioneering breakcore producer, but 1961 is a collection of joy-filled jumpy acid manoeuvres, funky grooves and kitsch beats. The opening track "My Home Recordings" sets the tone with Aaron's trademark attention to detail, ever shifting arrangements & strong acid bass line, a recurring theme throughout the recording.
